Image analysis is a method that processes digital images captured by optical microscopes or electron projectors using computer technology to measure parameters such as the number, area, and length of particles. At our company, by innovating the etching method, we have achieved high contrast coloring applied only to the ferrite phase of duplex stainless steel, enabling the measurement of ferrite content through image analysis. This method can be completed in a shorter time compared to the point counting method for measuring ferrite content, and it eliminates human error, reducing variability.
